I have always been passionate about health and wellness, even though I struggled with weight my entire life. I was always searching for the "holy grail" that would help me be fit, healthy, and feeling my best without suffering setbacks and ultimately regaining all of my weight.
I was on a roll too. I was feeling good. I was 45 and in great shape. Then WHACK! Everything started to change. My periods went haywire, I couldn't sleep at night, weight just started piling on, and nothing in my bag of tricks was working.
Additionally, I couldn't sleep, I felt weak and had insane heart racing and palpitations. They got so bad I went to see a 'renowned' cardiologist who looked me in the eye and told me "Well, you are getting older".
Being a Type-A, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I quickly concluded I was in perimenopause. The next doctor recommendation was to go on hormones...and that was NOT what I wanted to do.
So I spent years studying alternative methods, like eating hormone balancing foods, discovering tools to reduce stress, and a process to live my best life.
And it worked. I lost 15 pounds (the ones I struggled with my entire life) last year...at the age of 46...in MENOPAUSE! And I feel great.
I also discovered the path to creating a life I LOVE. A life lived for ME! Don't get me wrong, I love my family and our 9 pets, but I needed to start taking care of myself and finding what my true purpose was so I could show up as my best self FOR them.
And I did...in essence I turned my hot flashes into my POWER SURGE!
